Hubs
- Frequently Asked Questions
|
| 1. |
How
does the weight of your Hex hubs compare to stock hubs? |
| |
Weight
varies per model--some are heavier than stock, some are lighter,
but ALL are virtually indestructable. |
| 2. |
Are
the holders/adaptors included on Hex hubs? |
| |
Yes,
all sprocket and/or disc holders are included with our Hex hubs. |
| 3. |
How
do I adapt a Hex Hub to fit another make or model? |
| |
All
you need is an Adaptor Kit that includes the sprocket and/or
disc holder and the correct axle spacers for the model you
wish to fit. There are very few exceptions, nearly all Hex
Hubs are
interchangeable, some model changes may require only axle spacers. |
| 4. |
Do
Hex Hubs work with stock spokes? |
| |
Hex
Hubs are designed to use a cross 3 spoke lace pattern for supior
strength, we recomend odering rad spoke sets with hex hub,
stock spokes will work but need xtra bending. |
| 5. |
Are
Eagle Hubs greaseable? |
| |
No,
Eagle Hubs are built with oversized pre greased sealed
bearings and outer seals with stainless inner springs for a
superior
seal,
after years of production and thousands being sold we have
had zero failures. |
| 6. |
How
do Hex Hubs compare to Excel interchangeable Hubs? |
| |
In
1998 we first introduced hubs featuring an interchangeable
design. Our hubs are by far the strongest you can buy and we
back them
with a 1 year warranty that no other manufacturer can match.
All RAD Hubs are made in USA. Our Hex Hubs include all necessary
spacers and holders for one price, and come completely assembled. |
| 7. |
What
hub should I buy? |
| |
If
future interchangability is not important
consider the Eagle hubs for an easy stock replacement that
requires no maintenance.
The Hex hubs are the top-shelf, high performance hub, designed
for riders who wish to interchange wheels between different
bikes. Both hubs are built with oversized bearings, hex hubs
are greaseable so
with proper maintenance they will last a very long time. |
| 8. |
Are
the hubs assembled with bearings and seals? |
| |
RAD
hubs come completely assembled and ready to install. All parts
included. |

Carriers - Frequently Asked Questions
|

Will
the carrier fit my stock ATV? |
| |
Yes.
All of our carriers are designed to fit a stock swingarm and
axle, unless otherwise specified. |
| 2. |

it come with bearings and seals? |
| |
Yes.
All of our carriers come to you completely assembled. You will
only need to grease it. |
| 3. |
Can
you tell me more about greasing this carrier? |
| |
Our
carriers have a grease fitting which will allow grease to flow
to the bearings on both sides. Fill the carrier until you see
grease oozing out of both sides. Then use your finger to smear
some grease between the bearing and the seal. |

| |
Ours
will fit most brands of aftermarket swingarms that are made with
the same diameter to fit a round 'Honda-Style' carrier. Check
with the swingarm manufacturer to make sure. |
| 7. |
Does
the carrier inlcude a brake caliper holder and/or circlip? |
| |
Some
carriers include a brake caliper holder and all necessary hardware
including the circlip(marked by an *). Carriers that don't include
a caliper holder are designed to work with your stock holder
and circlip. |
| 8. |
Will
an H-7 fit my 85 ATC 350X? |
| |
Yes,
but in order for it to work you will need to also install a rear
sprocket and sprocket bolts from an 86 350X. We designed a specific
carrier for the 85 to eliminate this hassle, and the cost difference
is comparable to buying the sprocket. |
